Clive Insulation Contractor for Houses From the 1990s
Clive's median house was built in 1995, and about 3 in 10 went up in the 1990s alone. At 30 years old, those attics are worth a look: how deep the insulation is, how the soffit vents breathe and what's over the garage.

Five things to check in a 1990s Clive house
- Attic depth. Blown-in insulation settles, so check whether what's up there still reaches R-49. If it doesn't, Abraham tops it up with cellulose.
- Soffit vents and ventilation. Poor ventilation is among the problems Abraham sees most, and baffles keep the insulation off the vents so the attic can still move air.
- The room over the garage. If it runs hotter or colder than the rest of the house, Abraham's approach is air sealing plus insulation.
- Bathroom floors. A bathroom over unheated space can stay cold underfoot, and the fix depends on where it sits.
- Walls opened up in a remodel. With the studs exposed, Abraham uses blown-in batting, which he installs on full remodels, often for remodeling companies.

Platted in 1882, incorporated in 1956, built up in the 1990s
Clive was platted in 1882 but didn't incorporate until August 18, 1956. Much of its housing came decades after that: of about 7,400 homes, 2,168 were built in the 1990s, and only about 7 in 100 predate 1960. The median year built is 1995.
The city sits in two counties, about 61% Polk and 39% Dallas, and it's known for its Greenbelt park and trail. With so many houses from one decade, a lot of Clive attics are the same age, about 30 years, long enough for a blown-in layer to have settled.

Clive FAQ
What's a bulkhead, and why does Abraham seal over it?
A bulkhead is a boxed-in section of ceiling, like the soffit over kitchen cabinets, that can be hollow and open to the attic above. Warm, damp house air rises through it into the attic. Abraham seals over bulkheads before he insulates, along with the gaps around pipes and wall tops.
How does payment work?
You pay a 30% deposit when you sign and the balance when the job is finished. Abraham takes cash, check, card, Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. He doesn't offer financing.
A roof leak soaked part of our attic insulation. Does it all have to come out?
Water and mold are both reasons Abraham vacuums an attic out. He removes it, seals the attic floor while it's open and blows in new cellulose. Get the roof leak fixed first.
